After exiting the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs Giannis Antetokounmpo won the league MVP for the second straight year. If you look at the votes it wasn’t even close. LeBron James came in with 16 1st place votes and James Harden had 0. It is quite shocking the level he dominated the MVP votes especially considering how poorly they played in the NBA bubble.
But if you look at the entire 2019-2020 season you will see that Giannis excelled, even more, this year. Giannis took his game to a whole new level last season. Then as if we didn’t think he could get any better he put up 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds — both career-highs — 5.6 assists, and a steal and a block per game. That is absolutely insane numbers.
This off-season is going to be a big one for the Bucks. If they aren’t able to surround their MVP with some stars he will most likely be heading out the door. Regardless of what happens, Giannis is a force to be reckoned with and the 2019-2020 NBA MVP.
