What Happened?

During a Premier League match in gameweek 27, Manchester United played at Old Trafford vs. Ipswich. Young star Alejandro Garnacho was in the starting line up for the devils. Manchester United went on to win the match but not without controversy around Garnacho. Ipswich went up due to a poor performance from Manchester United’s keeper, but the home team came back to make it 2-1. Just before half time, new signing Patrick Dorgu received a red card for serious foul play, closing following a goal from the away side to make it 2-2 before the whistle for half time. Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim had to sacrifice Alejandro Garnacho due to Patrick Dorgu’s red card, leading to the star player storming down the tunnel and leaving his teammates to play. This led to a lot of concerns and questions around what really happened.

Truth!

There was a lot of talk around this event, but what really ended up happening was that manager Ruben Amorim later had a meeting with the star to get to the bottom of what happened. Garnacho explained that he went to shower because it was wet out and that his actions were not meant as an act of revolt toward the team or manager. The rising star also offered to take the team out to dinner as an apology. Manager Ruben Amorim accepted his explanation and let the matter go, while stressing that no player should leave a match for any reason. Both the club manager and the star player remain positive and are working together!
