Growing up a soccer player there was always a desire to watch what other people were wearing for cleats and a desire to have the best and the brightest. Nike has done a tremendous job keeping up with the newest fads and requests from customers. The real question now is have they gone too far?

THE DISLIKES:

Less and less people are supporting and using Nike soccer cleats, they have grown away from the high tech flyknit and dream about the old styles that we trusted so much. Along with the new additions, there seems to be a new meaning to the word “Tight” for Nike. The cleats have seemingly gotten tighter and tighter over the years and have been harder to break in. The break in period being around 2 weeks rather than the one or two practices that they used to take before. This causes the cleats to have a short period of usage and creates a lot of frustration for the wearer.

People enjoyed the older versions better than the new that are being produced. If you don’t believe me, let’s look at some.

As you can see from the pictures, Nike has conformed and changed its cleat’s design and shape in so many different ways and a lot of people are missing the old design and feeling that the older, more reliable cleats provided the wearer.

THE APPROVALS:

While some may consider the changes to be hard to comprehend and get used to. There are those who praise the cleats and the changes that Nike has made to the cleats. Users love the tight fit that represents all Nike cleats and shoes, they feel it gives the wearer a sense of comfort that they would not get if the cleat was not tight enough to feel like an extension of the leg. Consumers also really like the new colorways that Nike has introduced. We see the purple being brought back from the disliked Nike mercurial VI cleats and we see the introduction of a bronze color in the new Mercurial XIV cleats that were debuted in this years fantastic World Cup where we saw many stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Vinicius Jr., etc. giving us a good look at what the cleats looked like in game.
