Veronika Kudermetova Career Highlights
2011 – 15
Veronika Kudermetova made her first career win during the ITF Circuit in 2011 and continued her journey on ITF Circuit. In 2013, she partnered with Evgeniya Rodina and won her first $50k tournament during the Kazan Summer Cup. Kudermetova, an unranked player at the time, also entered the singles semi-finals as a wildcard during the same cup.
In 2014 she cracked her first top 500 world ranking. Kudermetova played her career’s first-ever $100k tournament during the President’s Cup and ranked No. 343. However, in 2015 despite winning two ITF Circuit doubles, Kudermetova struggled for a win and dropped to a year-end ranking of 400.
2016 – 19
In 2016, The Taipei Challenger marked her debut at the WTA 125 tournament and ranked her at No. 210. The Australian Open of 2017 marked Kudermetova’s Grand Slam debut and her first qualifying win during the French Open. Kudermetova made her first WTA game qualification during the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix of 2018.
In 2019, she achieved her biggest career title during the WTA 125 event held in Guadalajara by defeating opponent Marie Bouzková. She moved on to the quarterfinals during the Kremlin Cup by defeating Elina Svitolina (world No. 4 at the time) and ended the year with No. 45 & 25 in singles and doubles, respectively.
2020 – 21
Despite losing to Sara Sorribes Tormo during the 1st round of the Australian Open, Kudermetova achieved her highest career ranking of 38th. She then seeded 29th, lost the 1st round of the US Open against Iga Świątek but achieved their first Grand Slam semi-finals with Anna Blinkova.
Kudermetova won the WTA singles title (a first in her career) during the Chareleston Open by defeating Danka Kovinić in the finals and reached a world ranking of No.29.
In 2021, she represented ROC (Russian Olympic Committee) for the Tokyo Olympics in both singles & doubles for women. She was consecutively victorious in the Chicago Fall Tennis Classic until her loss to Rybakina during the 3rd round. Kudermetova moved past the 2nd round of the Indian Wells Open and met successive wins in doubles with Rybakina but lost to 2nd seeds Mertens & Hsieh during finals.

Kudermetova’s father, Eduard Kudermetova, was a national ice hockey player from Russia. Polina, her sister, also plays tennis in the junior league.
Sergei Demekhine became her coach when she was 16. They officially dated in 2015 and got married in 2017.
